JT’s Cuts Academy Skincare Specialist Program FAQs

How long does it take to finish the Skincare Specialist Program?

The Skincare Specialist Program at JT’s Cuts Academy includes 220 hours of training. Students can complete that training in as little as ten weeks, but your progress in the program is determined by your dedication, clock hours, and services performed. Because of that, your journey may take longer. An admissions advisor can help you map out a timeline based on your schedule and start date so you have a more accurate estimate.

What makes JT's different from other Skincare Specialists schools?

We focus on giving students more opportunities for hands-on learning so you can refine your skills working with real guests and not just mannequins. We use trivia-style challenges, creative drills, and interactive software that keeps your theory sharp and helps you stay engaged between services. Small class sizes mean our instructors can spend more time giving you feedback at the treatment table and helping you work toward your goals. This is a classroom, but it’s also a family, and we promise to give back as much effort as you put into your training.

What's included in the student kit?

Your student kit includes all of the professional-grade products and tools you’ll need to complete your training. This may include steamers, brushes, product, brow tinting supplies, workbooks, and more. The exact contents of our student kits may change along with industry trends and product availability, but you can get a current list of the contents from the Admissions team.

Do you offer job‑placement assistance?

We cannot guarantee employment for graduates. However, our career services team offers lifetime assistance to graduates, no matter how long ago you left our program. We offer resume help, mock interviews, and assistance with building your portfolio. We also network with local spas and salons that are looking for people with your skill set. Our team will try to connect you with opportunities and help you prepare for meetings with potential employers.

What's the difference between the Skincare Specialist and Full Specialist Programs?

Our Skincare Specialist program offers 220 hours of training dedicated exclusively to skin care, including facials, hair removal, and more, preparing you to sit for the Florida state board exam. The Full Specialist program stretches that training to 600 hours by adding a full nail technology program, so graduates can offer manicures, pedicures, and nail art services along with skincare services. If you want to exclusively focus on skincare, the Skincare Specialist program may be the best fit. If you want to offer an expanded service menu, then you may want to explore the Full Specialist program.
