JT’s Cuts Academy Restricted Barber Program FAQs
How long does it take to complete the Restricted Barber Program?
The Restricted Barber Program is 600 clock-hours. Students can complete the training in as little as 24 weeks. Because your progress is tied to your hours and the number of services you perform, completion dates will vary from student to student. You can make up missed training hours, but it can delay your graduation. An admissions advisor can outline a realistic timeline based on your desired schedule.
Is Financial Aid available?
Yes. Financial Aid is available to those who qualify and can include Pell Grants, Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loans, VA education benefits, and flexible payment plans. Your first step is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) online. Our financial aid staff will then walk you through your options and help you design a financial plan that meets your needs.
What makes you different from other schools?
JT’s Cuts Academy combines intimate class sizes with a family-style culture that keeps you motivated and accountable throughout your training. Our instructors offer up-close demonstrations, then let you practice your new skills on real clients under their close supervision. You can log hands-on service hours that prepare you for life behind the barber chair. Our instructors care about their roles as mentors and work to help each student succeed. We believe that the support you get from us should match the effort you put into your training, so we’ll give as much as you do.
What's included in my tuition?
Your tuition covers all classroom and clinic instruction, plus a professional student kit. The kit contains commercial-grade clippers, trimmers, shears, straight razors, combs, workbooks, and more. You’ll also get a mannequin for practice and a uniform for professionalism. Registration and other fees are itemized so you know every cost up front with no surprises. What is the Difference Between the Barber Program and the Restricted Barber Program?
Both paths build a solid foundation in barbering skills, but the Restricted Barber Program is only 600 clock hours versus 900 clock hours for the full Barber Program. Restricted Barber training concentrates on men’s cutting, shampooing, sanitation, and traditional straight-razor shaves. The full Barber Program also includes training in chemical services such as coloring, relaxing, and perming.
